It’s been a busy few months for us here at Orderable HQ! We’ve been focusing on some updates we think you’ll love.

You can submit a feature request through your account if you’d like to request future plugin updates and/or changes.

Updates to Orderable (Free)

Over the past couple of months, we’ve released some updates for the free version of Orderable – here are a few key ones:

Delivery Days calculation

We’ve added a new feature to help you have more control over how your lead time and pre-order days are calculated.

If you make your way to the Store Settings tab in your Orderable settings, you’ll see a setting called Delivery Days Calculation Method underneath Preorder Days.

If you click the dropdown next to this, you’ll see several options:

  • Service Days
  • Open Days
  • Weekdays Only
  • All Days

Depending on which you pick, your lead time or pre-order days will be calculated to either include only the service days, only the days the store is open, only the weekdays, or all days.

Your service days can be found in the Service Hours section, and your open days can be found in the Open Hours section.

Override template files with your theme/child theme

Up until now, if you wanted to override or adapt Orderable’s page templates or layouts with your theme or child theme, you’ve not been able to.

Now though, you can, and what’s more, this update applies to both the Free and Pro versions of Orderable. So you can customize your store as much as you like while keeping Orderable’s powerful features.

That’s not all the free updates this month, though. We’ve made a whole host of other updates and fixes. You can see them all on our Orderable plugin page on WordPress.

Updates to Orderable (Pro)

Over the past couple of months, we’ve released some updates to the Pro version of Orderable – here are the big ones:

Tip and add-on shortcodes

Sometimes the placement of things like checkout tipping or product add-ons just don’t quite work for your store.

You might:

  • Be using a page builder like Elementor, so need to add these elements manually.
  • Want to change the location slightly without spending hours dealing with complex code.

If this is the case, you can now add checkout tipping and product add-ons via shortcodes.

Specifically:

  • [orderable_tip] – which will add the checkout tipping section.
  • [orderable_addons] – which will add the product add-ons section.

Note: These shortcodes can’t be used absolutely anywhere in your store. The tip shortcode will only work on the checkout page, and the addons shortcode will only work on the product page.

Addon fees and variable products

Until now, if you created variable products with Orderable and included add-ons for these products, the additional add-on fees wouldn’t work.

Now though, we’ve included an update to make this work smoothly. So no matter how complicated your pricing structure, you’ll be able to achieve what you want.

Additional info on the product page

Orderable comes with our slide-out drawer. This drawer shows the product description, allergen information, nutritional information, add-ons, and more. This works well for most stores. But if you wanted to link customers to the single product page rather than your product layout, they wouldn’t see any of your additional information.

Now though, we’ve added Allergen information and Nutritional information sections to the single product page. So it doesn’t matter how customers found your site – they’ll still get all the information they need.

Of course, that’s not all. We’ve made several other fixes and updates. You can read all of these in the Orderable Changelog.

How to get the updates

If you’re already using Orderable, you can update from the WordPress Dashboard as usual.

If not, you can get these new features by getting Orderable for yourself:
